Auto Refractor/ Keratometer

Auto Refractor/ Keratometer

We use the Auto Refractor/Keratometer to offer a fast objective measurement of a patient’s refractive error and the curvature of the cornea, which is important for the fitting of contact lenses.

Noncontact Tonometer(NCT)

Noncontact Tonometer(NCT)

The Noncontact Tonometer does not touch your eye but uses a puff of air to flatten your cornea. You may refer to this test as the “air-puff test”. The Noncontact Tonometer is a simple way to check for high intraocular pressure(IOP), which is an essential part of glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease that can cause blindness by damaging the nerve in the back of the eye (optic nerve). Damage to the optic nerve may be caused by a buildup of fluid that does not drain properly out of the eye.

Digital Retina Camera

Digital Retinal Camera

Our retinal camera photographs the interior surface of the eye, including the retina, optic disc, macula, and posterior pole(i.e. the fundus). It’s used for monitoring progression of a disease, diagnosis of a disease (combined with retinal angiography), or in screening programs and epidemiology.

Fundus photography is used to detect and evaluate symptoms of retinal detachment or eye diseases such as glaucoma. In patients with diabetes mellitus, regular fundus examinations (once every 6 months to 1 year) are important to screen for diabetic retinopathy as visual loss due to diabetes can be prevented by retinal laser treatment if retinopathy is spotted early.

Digital Acuity Chart

Digital Acuity Chart

Our new Digital Acuity Chart is a high-tech way of testing a patient’s visual acuity and several other examinations.

*Contrast acuity and sine-wave grating contrast sensitivity testing

*Cartoon loop with sound for pediatric fixation

*Patient education slides

*Random sequencing

Automatic Visual Fields

Automatic Visual Fields

Our Automatic Visual Fields is used for detecting, evaluating, monitoring ocular, and neurologic disorders affecting the visual system. Peripheral visual field loss may be useful in detecting eye diseases such glaucoma, and the pattern loss can be helpful in differentially diagnosing various other ocular disorders such as diabetes and brain tumors.

PlusOptix Screener

PlusOptix Screener

The PlusOptix takes digital photos and measurements of a child’s eye, from a comfortable distance. It’s as easy as having their picture taken. Every child that is not already treated by an eye care professional should take part in a vision screening regularly. Our office recommends first screening at or around a child’s second birthday. A vision screening should be repeated regularly for the eyes changing with growth and new vision disorders may occur anytime.

Check on our Children tab on the main page for more information on our PlusOptix.
